The Seth Ernst Memorial Soccer Slam tournament is named after Seth Ernst, a former JV soccer player from Geneseo who was tragically taken from us in a car accident on October 15th, 2000. Seth loved the game of soccer and would be very proud to know how strong soccer has become in our area.
There is an award given out every year to a Geneseo JV soccer player that best exemplifies the young man Seth was. The inscription on the award reads: “For exhibiting leadership on and off the field, for a strong work ethic that makes you a team player and a fierce competitor. For a great sense of humor and genuine love for the game of soccer.”
